Recreational Gymnastics Coach
Voluntary | 1-16 Hours Per Week | 5 Days Per Week (Including Sunday)
About The Role:
Are you enthusiastic about gymnastics and eager to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, community-driven environment? As a Volunteer Assistant Gymnastics Coach at 2PRU Gymnastics Club, you’ll work closely with experienced coaches to support and deliver inclusive, energetic, and rewarding gymnastics classes for children of all ages.
Whether you’re working toward a coaching qualification or simply looking to get involved, this role is a fantastic stepping stone into the world of recreational gymnastics coaching.
Key Responsibilities:
As a recreational gymnastics coach at 2PRU Gymnastics Club, you will have the opportunity to:
Support Dynamic Sessions: Collaborate with lead coaches to deliver fun and engaging gymnastics classes in a recreational setting.
Coach Small Groups: Assist with groups of up to 8 children across a variety of apparatus, incorporating elements of freestyle, acro, and display.
Class Management: Use age-appropriate class control techniques to maintain engagement and discipline in sessions.
Adapt and Assist: Follow structured plans and adjust activities as needed to meet the needs of each gymnast.
Encourage Healthy Habits: Inspire a lifelong love for gymnastics, promoting physical literacy and healthy lifestyles.
Maintain Safety Standards: Identify and minimise risks during equipment setup, skill development, and activities.
Community Opportunities: Take part in delivering school-based or community gymnastics sessions (optional).
Contribute to Development: Help shape session plans and engage in coaching workshops to build your knowledge and confidence.

Pathways To Paid Coaching Roles:
While this position is voluntary, we also offer clear pathways into paid coaching for those who work towards and meet the following Essential Qualifications (for Paid Roles):

Level 1 Coaching Qualification in WAG, MAG, or General Gymnastics.

Enhanced DBS Check (cost reimbursed upon successful application).

Safeguarding & Welfare Qualification (or willingness to enrol via the club).

Not qualified yet? No problem. We offer volunteer training positions where you’ll be closely mentored by experienced coaches. Once you’re ready, we’ll support you in becoming officially qualified through a recognised coaching course.
