Position: Full Time
Display Gymnastics Coach
Full-Time | 16+ Hours Per Week | 5 Days Per Week (Including Sunday) | £8-16 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
As the Head of Display Team Gymnastics Coach at 2PRU Gymnastics Club, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead and Inspire: Mentor fellow coaches while guiding up to 16 gymnasts through warm-ups, stretches, and skill progression across a variety of apparatus.
Ensure Safety First: Identify and manage risks related to skills, activities, and equipment setup, ensuring a safe environment for both gymnasts and coaches.
Coordinate Equipment Management: Set up, dismantle, and store gymnastics equipment properly, ensuring everything is in top condition.
Welcome & Engage Gymnasts: Greet gymnasts and their families with enthusiasm and build strong, positive relationships from day one.
Lead Display Team Sessions: Coach multiple groups (up to 8 children) in recreational gymnastics, incorporating freestyle, acro, and display elements into each session.
Mentor & Develop Coaches: Provide feedback and guidance to fellow coaches and youth leaders, helping them grow and improve their skills.
Evaluate & Reflect: Review each session and provide constructive feedback to gymnasts to encourage both gymnastics excellence and personal growth.
Adapt & Challenge: Modify and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs and abilities of your gymnasts.
Support Gymnasts at All Levels: Offer manual, mechanical, verbal, and visual assistance where needed, ensuring all children have the support they require.
Manage Class Control: Apply a variety of class control techniques to effectively engage gymnasts of different ages and abilities.

Drive Community Engagement: Deliver gymnastics sessions at local schools and expand 2PRU Gymnastics Club’s community presence.
Explore All Gymnastics Disciplines: Get involved with other sessions beyond Display, such as Pre-School, SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), and Adults.
Contribute to Club Development: Help create engaging, innovative lesson plans and actively participate in the development of the coaching syllabus.
Engage in Workshops: Participate in coaching workshops to continue developing your skills and share your expertise with the team.
Improve Club Operations: Assist with administrative duties, including managing registers, payments, feedback, insurance, and the enrolment process.

Creativity & Innovation: Bring new ideas to coaching and engage in workshops to enhance your teaching methods.
Leadership Skills: Be confident in leading tasks, delegating responsibilities, and making decisions when necessary.
Essential Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, the following qualifications are required:
Coaching Qualification: Recognised Level 2 qualification in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), or General Gymnastics (GG).
Enhanced DBS: Successful enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (cost of DBS reimbursed upon successful application).
Safeguarding and Welfare Qualification: An active, recognised qualification or enrolment in one through 2PRU Gymnastics Club.
If you hold a Level 1 qualification, you may still be considered if you show enthusiasm, commitment, and a willingness to work towards obtaining a Level 2 qualification.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
While not essential, the following qualifications and experiences will increase your chances of success:
Level 3 or Higher Qualification: Recognised qualifications in WAG, MAG, or GG.
Specialised Coaching Qualifications: In areas like Pre-School, Freestyle, Acro, etc.
Gymnastics Experience: A background as a gymnast or previous coaching experience.
Experience with Children: Prior experience working with children or in a coaching environment.
Basic First Aid Training: Any additional relevant certifications or qualifications.
