Ages 2-5
Position: Part Time
Display Gymnastics Coach
Part-Time | 1-16 Hours Per Week | 5 Days Per Week (Including Sunday) | £8-16 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
As a display gymnastics coach at 2PRU Gymnastics Club, you will have the opportunity to:

Collaborate with fellow coaches to deliver dynamic and inclusive gymnastics classes for gymnasts of all ages.

Coach and progress multiple groups (of up to 8 gymnasts) across various gymnastics apparatus with a primary focus on recreational gymnastics while incorporating freestyle, acro, and display elements.

Effectively manage different age groups with a range of class control techniques.

Follow structured lesson plans and adapt activities based on personal expertise and individual gymnast needs.

Inspire a love for gymnastics and promote a balanced, healthy, and active lifestyle among all gymnasts.

Identify and minimize risks associated with gymnastics training, ensuring the safety of all participants.

Seek opportunities to expand the reach of our programs in the local community, such as delivering gymnastics sessions at schools.

Contribute to the evolution of our coaching syllabus, engaging in workshops and collaborating with lead coaches to enhance teaching practices.

Strong communication skills using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic methods to connect with gymnasts.

Effective at working within a team, displaying active listening and collaboration with coaches, parents, and staff.

Self-motivated, punctual, and adept at time management.

Consistent in using correct positioning during coaching sessions—avoiding sitting, leaning, standing still, or turning your back to the children.

Demonstrates creativity and innovation, actively contributing ideas during coaching workshops.

Confident in leading tasks, delegating responsibilities, and maintaining clear communication with both parents and staff.

Adaptable to working within both limited and extended time frames.
Essential Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, the following qualifications are required:
-
A recognized Level 1 qualification in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), or General Gymnastics (GG).

Provide an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check upon request. (The cost of this DBS will be reimbursed upon successful application).

Hold an active and recognizable “Safeguarding and Welfare” qualification or be enrolled in a safeguarding course before the start of the role.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
While not essential, the following qualifications and experiences will increase your chances of success:

A recognized Level 2 or higher qualification in WAG, MAG, or GG.

Additional gymnastics coaching qualifications, such as Pre-School, Freestyle, Acro, etc.
-
A background as a gymnast.
-
Previous coaching experience, preferably in gymnastics.

Prior experience working with children.
-
Basic First Aid training.
-
Any other relevant qualifications, such as “Time To Listen.”
If you hold a Level 2 or higher qualification, or additional coaching modules, we also have full-time roles available.
