Ages 2-5

Position: Full Time
Pre School Gymnastics Coach

Full-Time | 16+ Hours Per Week | 5 Days Per Week (Including Sunday) | £8-16 per hour

​Key Responsibilities:

As Head of Pre-School Gymnastics at 2PRU Gymnastics Club, you’ll take a leading role in shaping our youngest gymnasts’ first steps into the sport. Your key responsibilities will include:

Deliver Safe, Exciting Sessions: Understand and follow pre-planned lessons, ensuring equipment is correctly set up and safely stored after sessions.
 

Lead With Confidence: Introduce and guide gymnasts and their grown-ups through each session, maintaining a warm and welcoming environment.
 

Manage Multiple Groups: Coach and progress groups of up to 8 children on a variety of apparatus with a focus on fun, foundational skills, and early physical development.
 

Support & Assist: Provide children with manual, mechanical, verbal, and visual support to meet their individual needs safely and effectively.
 

Engage and Inspire: Use a range of class control techniques to keep sessions engaging and age-appropriate.
 

Reflect & Develop: Evaluate each session and provide meaningful feedback to gymnasts and fellow coaches.
 

Collaborate: Work closely with other coaches to ensure consistency and progression throughout our pre-school programme.
 

Health & Safety Focus: Be proactive in identifying risks and take steps to ensure a safe environment for gymnasts and staff alike.

Promote Gymnastics for Life: Encourage a love of movement and healthy habits in our youngest members.
 

Branch Out: Support additional disciplines such as recreational, display, adult, and SEND sessions.
 

Lead Community Outreach: Represent 2PRU by delivering gymnastics in local schools and community settings.
 

Shape the Programme: Contribute to lesson planning, develop the coaching syllabus, and lead workshops for junior coaches and volunteers.

  • Demonstrate creativity, professionalism, and leadership on and off the gym floor.
     

  • Support the team with flexibility, positivity, and strong organisation.
     

  • Act as a role model for coaches and gymnasts, upholding the club’s values and standards at all times.

Essential Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, the following qualifications are required:

Coaching Qualification: Recognised Level 2 qualification in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), or General Gymnastics (GG).

 

Enhanced DBS: A successful enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (cost of DBS reimbursed upon successful application).

 

Safeguarding and Welfare Qualification: An active, recognised qualification or enrolment in one through 2PRU Gymnastics Club.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

While not essential, the following qualifications and experiences will increase your chances of success:

 

  • Level 3 or higher qualification in WAG, MAG, or GG.

  • Additional coaching qualifications in specialised areas such as Pre-School, Freestyle, or Acro.

  • Background as a gymnast or prior coaching experience, particularly in gymnastics.

  • Experience working with children or in a sports coaching environment.

  • Basic First Aid training and any other relevant qualifications.
