About The Role
At 2PRU Gymnastics Club, we know that a love of movement begins early. As a Pre-School Gymnastics Coach, you’ll be instrumental in building foundational movement skills in our youngest gymnasts while helping them discover the joy of gymnastics through imagination, play, and guided learning.
This is more than just a coaching role, it’s a chance to create magical first experiences for children aged 18 months to 4 years, while working within a supportive and creative coaching environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Pre-School Coach, your essential in-gym duties will include:
Session Preparation: Understand and follow structured lesson plans, assist with setting up and tidying away equipment, and ensure everything is stored safely.
Prioritise Safety: Identify and reduce potential risks in all activities and apparatus setups, maintaining a safe environment for both gymnasts and coaches.
Warm Welcomes: Greet each child and their grown-up with enthusiasm, making the gym a warm and welcoming space for all.
Engaging Instruction: Introduce new activities in a fun, clear way, working collaboratively with fellow coaches to deliver inclusive, age-appropriate sessions.
Lead Group Warm-Ups: Facilitate active and playful warm-ups for groups of up to 16 young gymnasts.
Hands-On Coaching: Support children in groups of up to 8 across a variety of apparatus, while focusing on fun, confidence-building and basic gymnastics skills.
Individualised Support: Adapt activities based on age, ability and developmental needs using manual, verbal, visual or mechanical support methods.
Session Feedback: Reflect on sessions and celebrate each child’s progress—both in their gymnastics and personal development.
Class Control: Use age-appropriate class management techniques to guide, encourage and motivate each group.
Desirable Responsibilities:
We value coaches who are committed to going above and beyond. In this role, you’ll also have the opportunity to:
Promote Active Lifestyles: Inspire young children and their families to stay active and enjoy movement through engaging classes.
Explore Diverse Coaching Opportunities: Participate in additional session types such as Recreational, Display, Adult, or SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
Community Coaching: Deliver sessions at local schools or nurseries, expanding gymnastics into the wider community.
Develop Coaching Content: Contribute to our lesson planning and participate in workshops designed to enhance and inspire your coaching practice.

Show patience and empathy, understanding the unique pace and needs of every child.
-
